We like to introduce the judges and stewards of the European Championships of American Quarter Horses 2016.

These are the judges:

 

Chris Benedict, USA, AQHA / NCHA

 

Chris has been involved in horses all his life and he is an AQHA Judge for 30 years. Together with his wife Vickie he owns and operates a stallion station in Weatherford Texas and trains cutting horses as well. His son Cole is a past AJQHA World champion in Cutting and Roping. They owned several World Champions and stood some of the top stallions including Highbrow Cat, the NCHAs top stallion. Between the AQHA World show, AQHA Select World show and the AJQHA World show, he has judged over 20 of these. He has also judged every NCHA Major Event and 7 times the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity.

Charlene Carter, USA, AQHA / APHA / PHBA / NRHA / POA / ApHC / PtHC / NASMA / NSBA

Charlene Carter, along with her husband Mike own and operate Carter Show Horses, in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. They have successfully trained and shown AQHA World and Congress Champions in numerous all around events. Charlene thoroughly enjoys the judging and had the opportunity to judge worldwide, including the AQHA Youth, Amateur and Open World Shows, the All American Quarter Horse Congress, the APHA Youth, Amateur and Open World, the PHBA Youth, Amateur and Open World, the NSBA World , as well as the ISHA and IEA Championships, She has also judged both the AQHA, ApHC and APHA European Championships and in 2015 judged the APHA Youth World, the PtHA World Show, the PHBA World Show, the APHA European Championships, the NASMA Congress, as well as the 2015 All American Quarter Horse Congress.

Mike Carter, USA, AQHA / APHA / NSBA / PtHC / ApHC

Equine professional Mike Carter from Goodlettsville, Texas, has been in the horse business for over 40 years. He has successfully trained and shown numerous AQHA World and Congress Champions. He has had the opportunity to judge the AQHA World Show, the APHA World Show, the All American Quarter Horse Congress, the ApHC Nationals, the AQHA and the APHA European Championships, the PtHC World Show, as well as judging various Championship shows in numerous international countries. Mike truly has enjoyed training and showing horses, but it is a great honor for him to judge the different breeds.

Eugenio Latorre, ITA, NRHA / NRCHA / AQHA / FEI / FISE

Eugenio Latorre is a trainer and judge in the sports of reining and cow horse. He operates Latorre Performance Horses, his family- owned and operated reining and working cow-horse training facility. He is born and raised in the south of Italy. The last 10 years he trained in north Italy and won numerous national and international champion titles in major cow horse and reining events. 2015 he moved to Spain.

Since 1998 he has been a judge in different FEI European and World Championship Events such as the 2010 WEG’s in Kentucky. For the NRHA, he has judged the Futurity in Oklahoma five times and he was monitoring the judges this past 2015. Eugenio is also a member of the NRHA Judges Committee and a judges clinician for NRHA and FEI.

Sylvia Jäckle, GER, AQHA / NRHA / NSBA

Over 25 years Sylvia Jäckle, from Hofheim, Germany, has successfully trained All Around Horses. She has shown numerous European Champions and Vize European Champions in Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Reining and Halter. She coaches successfully youth and amateur riders for the All Around classes and also the german youth team at the AQHA Youth World Cup in Flagstaff, Arizona and in Ontario, Canada.

Since 2004 she has judged different AQHA, NRHA and NSBA Events. Among other shows she has judged the European Championships 2013, the AQHA Youth World Cup 2012 and austrian, english, italian and finnish Championships.

Pam Scott, USA, AQHA / NCHA / NRHA / NRCHA / NSBA

Pam Scott began in 1970 training and showing successfully All Around American Quarter Horses. She made numerous AQHA Champions. She won ten AQHA Honor Roll Titles in Working Hunter, Jumping and Hunter Under Saddle and won classes at the AQHA World Show, PHBA World Show, All American Quarter Horse Congress, numerous State Fairs and large circuits throughout the country in halter and performance classes. Currently she is showing NCHA cutting horses and is winner of over $30,000 in prize money.

Pam judged the AQHA Select World Show, PHBA World Show, Dixie Nationals, Little River Circuit, Kentucky State Fair, Oregon Summer Classic, Florida Gold Coast, North American, NCEA & IEA events, Australian Championship Show, Americana and Q10 in Germany and the Swedish National Show.

Lisa John

Lisa John is from the United Kingdom and based in the South West of England.  She runs her own western riding school catering for all levels and experience. Since 2008 Lisa has been an approved AQHA Show Manager for both the AQHA UK and Fenland Shows and was approved as an AQHA Show Steward in 2013.

 

Marvin “Butch” Carse Jr.

Butch Carse is one of the original AQHA Stewards. He is also a Steward for the National Reining Horse Association and a Chief Steward for the Federal Equestrian International. Butch has stewarded at the AQHA World Shows, N.R.H.A. Futurity and the World Equestrian Games. He has been an AQHA judge for 25 years and has been a judge for all 3 AQHA World Shows, along with the European Quarter Horse Championships.

 

The European Championship of American Quarter Horses will take place from Friday 5 to Sunday 14 August in the Ostbayernhalle in Rieden – Kreuth.
